I have tried to research this but I am not having much success.

When there is a commentary for an episode that is NOT written by Joss, the writer almost always mentions the scenes and/or lines that were actually written by Joss, although he doesn't get credit for them. What I'm trying to find out if there's any way to find out which scenes Joss wrote in the episodes where there is no commentary. One scene that comes to mind is Spikes "You are a hell of a woman" speech in "Touched". I can not believe that anyone other than Joss could have written that speech. Does anyone know?

I know that there are lot of other examples of scenes and lines that I've wondered about but I just can't think of another one right now.

I know that Joss wrote a scene for "Billy" in Angel season 3. He wrote the scene of Cordelia and Lilah talking.
I also know that Joss wrote a lot of scenes for Lilah/Wesley, but I also can´t remember right now.

In 'You're Welcome', he also writes the final scene between Cordelia and Angel.

Joss writes a crap-ton of scenes in episodes written by other writers. I don't know of any place where all such scenes are listed, but this board seems as good a place as any to start one. I'll rattle off what I remember from commentaries and the like.

Dirty Girls: Joss wrote the opening scene between Caleb and the Potential unfortunate enough to get into the car with him.

Conversations with Dead People: Joss wrote every scene involving Buffy and Holden Webster. Basically, he wrote the best parts of this very good episode.

Beneath You: Joss wrote the final scene between Buffy and Spike in the church.

Grave: Joss wrote Xander's yellow crayon speech. Don't tell me you're surprised.

Hell's Bells: Joss wrote the scene between Buffy and Spike at Xander's wedding. "You're glowing." "That's because the dress is radioactive." Heh.

Bargaining: Joss wrote this Xander line: "I happen to be a very powerful man-witch myself."

I Was Made to Love You: Joss came up with "Puffy Xander" and suggested the bit where Warren dramatically reveals to Buffy that April is a robot only to be met with an "Uh huh."

Earshot: Jane Espensen came up with the idea of giving Buffy the ability to read thoughts, but it was Joss who suggested that she accidentally read the mind of a potential murderer.

What's My Line: Joss based this entire two-part episode around one line he made up: "Two Slayers. No waiting."

I'm sure there are tons of other bits Joss has written, most of which we will probably never know about. I didn't know that Joss wrote the final scene in You're Welcome. I believe it, though; the best scenes often seem to be his.

I can't remember where, but I recall hearing that Joss had a big hand in School Hard. I'd also bet the farm that he wrote some scenes from Fool for Love. No offense to Douglas Pietrie, but that episode is just... too good for Joss not to have been heavily involved.

I agree, Miscellaneopolan. That's how I feel about a lot of the Buffy/Spike scenes in Season 7.

BTW, I absolutely love the last scene in "Beneath You". If you look at the original shooting script you can see that it is NOTHING like what Joss wrote.

Bloody brilliant.

So I just watched "Intervention" and that last scene with Spike and "Buffybot" sure sounds like Joss. Guess we'll never know...

I didn´t know that he wrote for "You´re Welcome". Beautiful scene, indeed.

No, I´m not sure of this but I think he wrote the scene where Wesley calls a relationship and Lilah makes him sign a one dollar bill.

I've heard that Joss wrote quite a few scenes from the Wesley/Lilah relationship.

When there's a mediocre-ish episode with one great scene sticking out like a sore thumb, I tend to assume that Joss wrote it. The case in point here is Xander's speech to Dawn at the end of Potential. Not a great episode, but a terrific scene in which I suspect Joss' involvement. It's kind of unfair to the other writers to assume things like this, but it seems to be so consistently true that making the assumption just saves time.

I totally believe that.
